RE/MAX Renaissance Realtors raised more than $74,000 for T.C. Thompson's Children's Hospital Foundation at Erlanger at the second annual Bids for Kids Auction party Oct. 27, 2006 at First Tennessee Pavilion in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Broker/Owner Jason Farmer, owner of Vision Homes, and Associate Broker Teresa Varner, owner of Premier Homes, built and donated two of the three playhouses (on behalf of RE/MAX Renaissance Realtors) which were auctioned off during the event.
“The playhouses were a huge success,” said Sales Associate Mary McLean who was Chair of the Playhouse Committee. “More than two-thirds of the total amount raised came through the auction of the playhouses.” Along with the playhouses, more than 125 items, services and vacations were up for bids during the event.
The T.C. Thompson’s Children’s Hospital Foundation at Erlanger was formed in 1985 to develop organized community support for the hospital, as a vehicle for fundraising, and for the purpose of allocating funds raised through the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. In the 20-plus years since, the Children's Hospital Foundation has raised more than $10 million for the hospital.
RE/MAX of Kentucky Office Hosts "Art of Making Miracles" Event
The Makenna Foundation, founded by RE/MAX Creative Realty, held its 7th annual “Art of Making Miracles” event Sept. 8, 2006 on the offices’ tent covered grounds in Lexington, Ky. More than $150,000 was raised for Kentucky Children’s Hospital with the help of more than 100 sponsors and more than 900 guests that were in attendance. The Makenna Foundation was incorporated in 2001 to further the growth of Kentucky’s second largest children’s hospital in the memory of Makenna David, a clients daughter, who in 1998 at 20 months of age, died of a rare lung disease. To date, the Makenna Foundation has raised more than $800,000 for Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
